O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is proud to announce the launch of three new specialised one-year master’s degree programmes:
M.A. in Legislative Drafting, M.A. in Electoral Analysis & Management, and M.A. in Political Communication.
The programmes were formally launched by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal.
These programmes are designed to strengthen democratic institutions by equipping students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in law, governance, elections, and political communication.
The M.A. in Electoral Analysis & Management (EAM) focuses on the theory and practice of elections, covering electoral systems, voter behaviour and democratic ethics.
The programme prepares graduates for roles in election management bodies, political parties and civil society.
The M.A. in Political Communication explores the intersection of politics, media, technology, and public opinion. Through a combination of communication studies and campaign simulations, students will gain the ability to design and manage political messaging across traditional and digital platforms.
The M.A. in Legislative Drafting provides training in drafting laws and regulations and policy design.
The programme emphasises legal precision and comparative best practices to prepare graduates for careers in legislatures, government departments and policy research institutions.
Speaking at the launch event, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla highlighted the importance of these initiatives for the future of democracy, noting that such programmes will help prepare young leaders who can strengthen democratic participation.
The event was also attended by Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta and Naveen Jindal, Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University and Member of Parliament.
